come with us to the baseball game!
On Sunday, August 5th Pack 283 will be going to see the Minnesota Twins host the Kansas City Royals at Target Field!
We have reserved 30 bleacher seats just above the left field wall - an area often called the "home run porch" - for this outing. These are assigned bleacher seats with backs, and are covered by the upper deck (read: we won't get wet if it rains). Our seats are right next to the bullpen where relief pitchers warm up during the game (section 131). This makes for a very good deal at only $29 per person. First pitch is set for 1:10pm.
As this is a Sunday game, there are also other activities before and after the game that are also available.
- Before the game there will be an autograph session, usually with 1 or 2 current twins signing autographs at no cost to any kids in attendance. If you want to get an autograph it is wise to show up before noon to make sure you are in line on time.
- After the game, kids will be able to run the bases. If you haven't been on the field at Target Field this is a great opportunity to do so at no cost. A line will start near our section at the end of the game to go down through the maintenance area and enter the field through a door that puts us on the warning track past left-center. Everyone then walks the warning track to first base where kids can then run the bases. Everyone is welcomed on the field for this.
- There is also scheduled to be a pillowcase featuring mascot TC Bear given to all kids 12 and under.
Tickets are required for all kids and parents. Children under 3 who can sit on their parent's lap throughout the game can attend at no cost. This event is open to all scouts, parents, families, friends, etc.
Parking is not included in this cost. Minneapolis ramp B - accessed directly from 394 - is typically $15-20 on a Sunday for a game. It is also possible to take a bus from the park and ride lot on 394, though it would require either walking several blocks downtown or transferring to light rail to reach the stadium from there (the direct bus no longer runs). We can help arrange carpools or caravans as well if anyone is interested.
We need to make this reservation by Friday, July 13th. If we do sell out the 30 seats we will be featured on the Jumbotron during the game; there may be additional seats available if we need more.
