Pack Dues
How to Get Involved
PACK DUES
Pack 283 will not turn away a child because of ability to pay. It is our belief that cost should not be a barrier to participating in Scouting. One way we pursue that goal is through the balance of pack dues and fundraising. The pack asks for annual dues, paid around the start of the school year. With these dues, the pack provides the scout’s neckerchief for each den level, any rank or awards the scout earns during the program year, and a pack t-shirt. All scouts who join the pack will receive these items as earned.
The dues are evaluated each year to ensure they are both sufficient to cover these costs and as low as reasonable to meet that specific need. Other program costs are subsidized by the pack’s annual holiday wreath fundraiser. However, fundraising may not cover all program expenses and so for some events, like the pack hosted camps, a nominal fee is asked to help bridge that gap. The Pack Committee aims to keep those fees low while meeting the need. Again, no family will be turned away from participation because of ability to pay.
You may pay by check or PayPal. If paying by check, make checks payable to Pack 283 and hand it to the Committee Chair or Treasurer. If you have any questions regarding your dues payment, please contact the Pack Treasurer. If you are in need of a scholarship for your child or have questions regarding the dues process, please contact the Committee Chair.
