Pack 283 Scouts do well in Regional Pinewood Derby.

2006 by the Boy Scouts of America.
April 2006
This is the second year in a row Pack 283 has recieved this distintion. To be
designated a Quality Unit, a pack must meet a number of standards regarding
leadership, training, Pack meetings, events and advancement. Scouts shoudl sew
their Quality Unit patch on their uniform about an inch below their den patch.

GREAT JOB SCOUTS!!
Adult Leaders Needed
December 2005
Leadership update: Early each year we are proud to see our
second year Webelos move on to Boy Scouts. At the same time they inevitably
take with them some of our most experienced and dedicated Pack leaders.
The Pack has been working to fill those positions and has a wonderful roster of
volunteers who have generously stepped up to help out in 2006 and
beyond.
However, a number of key positions remain open, most notably members of our
important Cubmaster committee (a committee of three people to share planning
and running Pack meetings during the school year). We are also looking for a
Rum River Coordinator for our 4/06 event and an Assistant Treasurer who would
become Treasurer in January 2007. There are two new positions open as well:
Community Service Coordinator and Coordinator of our new Family Camping event
in October 2006.
We especially welcome parents who are not den leaders to help out in some way
each year (as you can see most of the adults in Pack leadership positions are
also den leaders!) Training and support is provided for all positions. You can
email leader@pack283.net if you
have questions about any of these opportunities or know someone you think would
be perfect for one of these jobs.
