Polar Cubs is back for 2009
And this year, Pack 283 is heading out there on Sunday January 11th from 8:30am to 3:30pm  Please join us if you can, it promises to be a fun day. Polar Cubs is located at Phillippo Scout Reservation, Cannon Falls.

Polar Cubs is a Northern Star Council winter day camp just for Cub Scouts. Sign up through Pack 283 and attend with other scouts from your Pack and den on January 11, 2009. (If you cannot attend on January 11th, you may sign up on your own for a different date - go to www.goscouting.org to check availability). Boys attending this camp will be eligible to earn the Outdoor Activity Award.

Some of the activities at Polar Cubs have included snow-tubing, broomball, obstacle course, winter nature activities, crafts, snowshoeing, capture the flag, and snow golf. Webelos have the opportunity to be in a special Webelos program designed just for them to learn about winter survival, animals and outdoor sports. A hot lunch is provided in the camp dining hall for everyone. Scouts and parents will learn how to keep warm, and stay dry in the snow and cold.

Polar Cubs is a one-day experience filled with plenty of fun, adventure, activity, and advancement opportunities. Hot lunch will be provided in the camp dining hall for everyone. Your day will include activities such as sledding, winter nature, games, snow obstacle course, and learning how to keep warm and dry in the winter season.

Polar Cubs runs January through March 2008 but January 11th is the only day you can attend with Pack 283.

Pack 283 policy requires scouts to be under the supervision of an adult at all times. A parent should attend with each Cub Scout, or make specific plans with another adult to be responsible. Tiger Cubs must have an adult partner with them.
